Everyone talks about Hong Kong having the best Chinese food in the world, well I’m going to debate that and say RICHMOND, BC is just as good and only a 2hr flight from San Francisco.
For most of us, Hong Kong is WAY too far to travel to when you’re craving dumplings or authentic hand-pulled noodles (drools).
Now if you’re a true foodie like me, I’d do a quick weekend trip to Richmond (home of Vancouver’s airport), and make a pit stop in Richmond for some bomb ass Asian food. In fact, 80% of the population in Richmond is Asian, and 50% of those people are Chinese. With those stats, you’re pretty much flying into Asia.
Located in The Richmond Public Market, is an open-air food hall that features everything from Taiwanese popcorn chicken to bubble tea and more. Go to Xi’An Cuisine for a bowl of hand-pulled noodles in lamb soup, spicy dumplings and lamb skewers.
The owner makes them fresh every order and you can watch him work his magic unfold from behind the counter. BTW these hand-pulled lamb noodles are only $7 usd!! Can you believe it?? They’re just as good as the ones from my recent HK trip!
