During GDC later this month, AMD is anticipated to introduce its FSR 3.0 upscaling technology. We’re looking at a type of sophisticated frame reconstruction technology based on what the chipmaker refers to as “Fluid Motion Frames”. With the aid of temporal frame data, FSR 2 (and DLSS 2) just upscale images, whereas its successors add a complete second frame, triple output performance.

As of this writing, AMD has confirmed FSR 2 compatibility for 117 titles. Almost 200 games already include NVIDIA DLSS 2. Third-gen upscalers are anticipated to follow a similar pattern, with DLSS dominating by a wide margin.
